Hainfeld Museum 

Museen im alten Gericht:

Das Haus wurde 1854 als Amtssitz für den 1848 nach der Auflösung der Grundherrschaften neu eingerichteten Gerichtsbezirk Hainfeld erbaut. Es ist eines der ältesten noch erhaltenen Häuser der Stadt und beherbergt heute zwei Museen: Das „Museum Historischer Bierkrüge" und das „Hainfeld Museum".

Im HAINFELD MUSEUM wird die Hainfelder Stadtgeschichte vom Mittelalter bis heute erzählt. Verschiedene historische Persönlichkeiten, die in Puppenform zu neuem Leben erweckt worden sind, nehmen zu Ereignissen und einzelnen Themenbereichen Stellung. Ein weiterer Raum ist dem Einigungsparteitag der Sozialdemokratischen Partei Österreichs 1888/89 gewidmet. Außerdem finden temporäre, vertiefende Ausstellungen statt.

Das HAINFELD MUSEUM versteht sich als lebendiges, partizipatives Museum. Eine rege Bürgerbeteiligung war schon im Entstehungsprozess von großer Bedeutung. Denn je mehr Personen sich engagieren, desto lebendiger kann das Museum als Ort des Selbstverständnisses einer Stadt gelebt werden.

The building was built in 1854 as the official residence of the Hainfeld judicial district, which was newly established in 1848 following the dissolution of the manorial system. It is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the town and today houses two museums: the "Museum of Historical Beer Steins" and the "Hainfeld Museum."

The HAINFELD MUSEUM tells the story of Hainfeld's town history from the Middle Ages to the present day. Various historical figures, brought to life in puppet form, comment on events and specific topics. Another room is dedicated to the Unification Party Congress of the Social Democratic Party of Austria in 1888/89. Temporary, in-depth exhibitions are also held.

The HAINFELD MUSEUM sees itself as a living, participatory museum. Active civic participation was of great importance right from the start. The more people get involved, the more vibrant the museum can be as a place where a city sees itself.
